Become a Docent or Volunteer at Kirkland Museum

 

Docents present the collection to museum visitors through general and special group tours. Docents also assist as gallery attendants during visitor hours.

Docent volunteers agree to a minimum 1 year commitment and to be available at least 8 hours per month.

Requirements:  a friendly and pleasant attitude, public speaking skills, interest in art and art history, enjoyment in interacting with people and the desire to learn.

Other Volunteer Opportunities  -

Visitor Services volunteers welcome visitors to the museum, collect admissions, give introductions and assist with sales in the gift shop. Visitor Services volunteers agree to a minimum 1 year commitment and to be available at least 8 hours per month.

Special Events volunteers assist with preparation, hosting and clean-up for member and public events at the museum and off-site venues. Special Events volunteers agree to a minimum 1 year commitment. There is no minimum number of hours per month.

Collections Department volunteers provide assistance with special short-term projects as requested by the department. Required commitments vary.
